Families camp! Camping families have great adventures that naturally strengthen family relationships.  Families that camp together work together. In addition, having fun in the great outdoors builds strong bodies. Camping is an affordable family vacation and creates the best memories of a lifetime. Summer is here, so get busy planning to take your family camping!

Overnight Family Camping Packing List:

Water

First aid Kit

Sunscreen

Insect Repellent

Camera

Cards

Candy or cookies for the drive (Fruit and veggies are better for us, of course, so throw those in too, if it makes you feel better.)

Apparel:

Change of clothes (include: long sleeved shirt, and long pants for hike, clean socks and underwear.  Don’t forget your P. J.s)

Hats for everyone

Coats (You may choose light or heavy jackets, depending on the weather at your destination.)

Equipment:

Tent

Flashlights (Depending on how many we have that are working, we bring 2 – 7, since my kids love carrying their own to the “outhouse.”)

Batteries

Lantern

Propane

Mantels

Folding chairs

Camp stove (You may choose to cook over an open fire, as we usually do.  Check with your camp ground to be sure that fire is allowed.  Once we went camping with wood and hot dog sticks only to find out that it was a “No burn night.”  Our gracious camp ground hostess allowed us to microwave our hot dogs in her RV.  Believe me, it isn’t the same.)

Sleeping Bags

Pads for Mom and Dad (Sleeping pads have made the biggest difference for us in recent years.)

Pillows

Menu Supplies:

Table cloth

Hot pads

Paper plates

Paper towels

Plastic forks

Hot dog sticks

Mixing Spoon

Spatula

Skillet

Tinfoil

Towel or two

Food:

Hot dogs

Hot dog buns

Margarine/butter

Ice for the cooler

Miscellaneous:

Charcoal or wood (Check with your camp ground, so that you know if you are allowed to     burn a fire.)

Lighter fluid (Use extreme caution!)

Wipes

Dish soap

Basin

Washcloth and Towel
