“Come Follow Me” Songs – Children Songs that relate to the themes in this Month’s study:

In my life, music has taught me correct principles of the gospel, strengthened my self discipline, brought me closer to my family members and most of all – enriched my life with the beauty that excellent music brings to ordinary days and an ordinary life.

Someone recently asked me, “How can we incorporate music in our daily interactions ?”  My answer to this question is sing throughout your daily routine. Sing in the car, on your walks, when cuddling, when playing, when putting down to sleep, or any other time. “What to sing” is a good question. There are thousands of songs available. (Look on my YouTube channel for a few ideas.) If you want to learn more, consider joining our LIVE Baby and Me class.

The parent’s job is to learn a song and then sing it to their kids. I am terrible at remembering lyrics, so I would put lists of lyrics on the wall to remember them. I would even hold lyrics in my hand while pushing the stroller, so I could sing a new song to my children on our morning walk.

To make it easier on you busy moms I have FREE downloads, audio and visuals for you to learn with your children. You may choose to share these songs in the morning at breakfast, during Come Follow Me study, or during story time. Enjoy!

I’ll ask my Heavenly Father
I’ll go to him in prayer
For I believe he’ll answer me
He will be waiting there
I’m sure he wants to guide me
For I know he has a plan
And he has said he would reveal his will
If I would only ask

So I’ll ask in faith
Looking to God for his guidance
I’ll ask in faith
He’ll help me just as he promised
I’ll trust in him always
I must believe
That when I ask in faith
My Heavenly Father will answer me

So I’ll ask in faith
Looking to God for his guidance
I’ll ask in faith
He’ll help me just as he promised
I’ll trust in him always
I must believe
That when I ask in faith
My Heavenly Father will answer me

SONG – “Close As a Quiet Prayer” by Sally DeFord

Close As a Quiet Prayer by Sally De Ford

Moment by moment, by night or by day,
My Heavenly Father is not far away
And He will be near when I whisper His name,
He is close as a quiet prayer
Close as a quiet prayer.

When I am thankful for blessings He sends,
He smiles as I offer my praises to Him,
And when I’m alone and in need of a friend,
He is close as a quiet prayer
Close as a quiet prayer.

I can pray to my Father above anytime, anywhere
When I call, He will always be
Close as a quiet prayer.

Whether I’m kneeling to seek Him in words,
Or silently praying, my heart will be heard.
His love will enfold me, His promise is sure
He is close as a quiet prayer
Close as a quiet prayer.

SONG – “Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord” by Lex de Azevedo

Prepare ye the way of the Lord
Prepare ye the way for his kingdom
His path we must clean
For the time is hear
To prepare the way so the Lord can come

Prepare ye the way of the Lord
Declare ye the day of his coming
Our voices will raise
As we sing his praise
Oh prepare the way of the Lord

Love one another the prophet says
Bear one another’s sorrows
Care for the poor and forgive every sin
Watch for the Lord comes tomorrow

Prepare ye the way of the Lord
Share the good news of his gospel
The day is at hand
Let the faithful stand
And prepare the way of the Lord

Love one another the prophet says
Bear one another’s sorrows
Care for the poor and forgive every sin
Watch for the Lord comes tomorrow

Prepare ye the way of the Lord
Share the good news of his gospel
The day is at hand
Let the faithful stand
And prepare the way of the Lord

Coming soon!

Shawna Edwards has a new song “Restored” that will be available by the end of January! I look forward to this debut.
