Be Happy!

Isolation sounds depressing because it is.

Social distancing stinks more than you thought. For real.

Is your neighborhood like mine? Many people have been creative to display cheerful messages in their windows or yards. This link was sent to me today from Curt’s school. It is awesome!

We need to be careful, though. You may need a serious pick-me-up or someone you know is struggling with some blue feelings. Be smart. Don’t delay in responding to you or your friend’s need for cheer IN A HEALTHY WAY. Here are some ideas that may help:

  • Exercise
  • Eat nutritious foods
  • Get enough sleep
  • Keep a regular routine
  • Start a healthy hobby like journaling, reading crafts,
  • Stay in touch, even if it is virtually.

Still, no matter how hard we try, sometimes life REALLY get us down. Here is a letter from my Dad to you:

Dear __________ –

In uncertain times, people can get discouraged. If you know someone who appears depressed, take a moment to talk with them. Learn of their troubles and, if you can, point them to someone who can help. If nothing more, it helps to stay connected and encourage each other. The attached flier from the Chandler School District offers good advice.

Also, keep yourself uplifted by remembering your blessings and opportunities. And stay connected to your family, friends and Heavenly Father by taking time to share concerns and positives.

Love, Dad

Yep, my dad is cool. Take his advice:

  • Count your blessings,
  • Stay connected with your family and friends,
  • Pray to God, and
  • Reach out to professionals if you need more help.

YOU ARE IMPORTANT. Take care of yourself.
